Shelter Support Specialist – Part Time

​

Do you need flexible hours but still want to make a difference in the lives of individuals experiencing a housing crisis or domestic violence in our area?  The part-time Shelter Support Staff position will be great for you.  This position is mainly night and weekend shifts of 4 pm to midnight or midnight to 8 am and is great for anyone with the ability to work different hours.  Our Shelter Support Staff mainly monitor the Center’s shelter residents (men, women, and children) throughout the late afternoon and evening hours, and well as make sure there are no issues at the Center itself.  The staff conduct numerous shelter intakes and works closely with police departments are securing safe transportation to Shelter and confidentiality of all shelter residents.  Staff also offer referral services to any individuals who may contact the agency for resources and information.

Volunteer Shelter Support

If you have even a few hours a week of your time to give to make a difference in the lives of individuals experiencing a housing crisis and domestic violence survivors, we would love to have you as part of our team!  Volunteers opportunities include providing essential support at the shelter answering phones, providing resources, and giving support to individuals and children.  Volunteers are needed during the day, evenings/nights, and weekends. 

 

Volunteer opportunities also include assisting with activities like fundraising and community events!

For part-time staff, paid time off is a provided benefit.

 

COVID-19 Precautions are in place that include the following to keep both staff and clients safe:  Personal protective equipment is provided and required, social distancing guidelines are in place, and sanitizing, disinfecting, and cleaning procedures are in place.
