A Time of Remembrance:

Honoring the Victims of Domestic Violence

To commemorate Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Women’s Help Center held a service on October 17th to honor the victims of domestic violence. The event showcased the Silent Witness Display - red, life-sized silhouettes created to symbolize victims who lost their lives at the hands of their abusers. Featured speakers included Cambria County Commissioner Doug Lengenfelder and Cambria County Assistant District Attorney Beth Bolton Penna. Josh and Kelly Devett provided musical performances and a slide show was presented honoring Pennsylvania victims who were murdered. The event ended with an outdoor luminary display with silent witness cutouts on the luminaries.
